Hough, Harold (Harold Verne), 1887-1967

Harold Verne Hough (b. Jan. 31, 1887, Mulvane, Kan.-d. Jan. 4, 1967, Fort Worth, Tex.) made the Run of '89 with his parents and came to Oklahoma City at the age of five. He moved to Fort Worth in 1916 and was known as the "hired hand" radio announcer of station WBAT, owned by The Oklahoma Publishing Company. While living in Oklahoma City, he was an employee of the Daily Oklahoman. He was former owner of the city radio station, KTOK, and was a member and vice president of the National Radio and Television Association of America.
