Shively, William, ca. 1839- fl. 1880.
Pennsylvania native who probably worked as a day laborer before the Civil War. Enlisted as a private in the Ringgold Battalion of cavalry September 6, 1862 and remained in the unit after it became a part of the 22nd Pennsylvania Cavalry, being mustered out May 24, 1865. Shively moved to Illinois by 1870 and was living in Elmwood while working in a paper mill in 1880.
