Davies, E. P. (Edward Patrick), 1880-1930.

Edward Patrick Davies was born in Iowa in January 1880. He attended the schools of Iowa City and Drake University. He was admitted to the Iowa bar when he was twenty-one years old. In October 1906 he moved to Willard, New Mexico where he opened a law office and ran an insurance business. In 1909 he moved to Santa Fe and continued his law practice. As a Republican, he was active in politics. He was an assistant district attorney, served one term in the state legislature, assisted in codifying the 1915 Penal Code of New Mexico, and was mayor of Santa Fe in 1918. Davies was also a life member of the New Mexico Historical Society. On May 12th, 1930, he died from a gunshot wound.
