Pucinski, Roman C., 1919-2002

Roman Conrad Pucinski was born in Buffalo (N.Y.); educated in Chicago area schools and colleges; worked as a Chicago Sun-Times reporter and writer (1939-1959); was a pilot and war hero during World War II; U.S. Congressman (1959-1973); Chicago alderman (1973-1991). His mother Lydia Pucinska, famed performer and broadcaster, also was a leader of the Polish American community. He died Sept. 25, 2002.
