Bryant, James Fenton.
During the Civil War, Bryant served with Company A, 12th Regiment of Virginia Cavalry. Following the war, he was a student at the University of Virginia. Later, Dr. James Fenton Bryant became the first mayor of Franklin, Va., and superintendent of schools in Southampton County.
