King, George H.

Dr. George H. King served as dean (1933-1934) and later president (1934-1937) of the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. King also served as director of the Georgia Coastal Plain Experiment Station from 1942 to 1947.

Richard B. Russell, Jr. (1897-1971), lawyer and politician, born in Winder, Georgia. Served as State Representative (1921-1931), Georgia Governor (1931-1933), and U.S. Senator (1933-1971).
