Belleville Trades and Labor Asssembly.
Founded in Belleville, Illinois in 1891 as an organization within the union structure to represent the numerous small locals and to facilitate their working together for their common benefit. It dealt with the problems of the unions with employers, union members or other unions, kept the locals apprised of legislation they should write their lawmakers about and maintained relations with other organizations in the labor movement.
