Allan, Sara A., 1839-1926.
Allan was the daughter of James M. and Susannah D. Stewart Allan of Geneseo, Illinois. She became a schoolteacher in various parts of the country, beginning as a teacher for black children in Mississippi under the auspices of the American Missionary Association in 1871.
