Spokane Flour Mills Co.

Samuel Oppenheimer built the Spokane Four Mill for the Amsterdamsch Trustee’s Kantoor in 1890. The Dutch interests operated the mill until 1933 when it was sold to a Portland, OR firm. Commonly known as the C. & C. Spokane Flour Mills, it operated at a time when the Far Eastern market for wheat was being expanded, but after World War II the China and Philippine markets were lost. By 1972 the mill was no longer profitable and it closed.
