Irvin, Monte, 1919-
Monte Irvin played for the Newark Eagles (1939-1942, 1946-1948) of the Negro Leagues, the New York Giants (1949-1955), the Chicago Cubs (1956), and in the Mexican League (1943). After his playing career, Irvin worked in the Commissioner's Office. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1973. Harry Wiley worked for Ashland Oil of Ashland, Kentucky.
