Association of Independent Radio Contractors
The Independent Local Radio Programme Sharing Scheme, organised by the Association of Independent Radio Contractors [AIRC], enabled independent radio stations to share features, drama and music. The scheme ended after the 1990 Broadcasting Acts relaxed the requirement for speech based broadcasting which it served.
