International Chemical Workers Union
Founded in 1944, the ICW Union is one of the youngest unions in the U.S. and Canada, with a membvership of about 90,000 as of 1990. The union was founded following the first organizational effort in April, 1940, when the American Federation of Labor (A.F.L.) charged one its members to establish a council of chemical worker unions throughout the U.S.
