King, William Martin, 1928-

Born on April 4, 1928, William Martin King entered Georgetown University in 1946 as a freshman, but left before graduating to enter the Society of Jesus in 1948. While studying for the priesthood he earned a doctorate in history from the University of Texas at Austin. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1960 and took his final vows as a Jesuit in 1965. After ordination Fr. King taught at Loyola College in Baltimore, Md., followed by over twenty years on the faculty of St. Joseph's College in Philadelphia, Pa. In 1996 he was assigned to Immaculate Conception Parish in Albuquerque, N.M., and served there until 2006 when he took up residence in the Jesuit Community at Georgetown University.
