Born in Woodstook, Vt .,Apr.13,1802; grad. Burlington,Vt., 1805; stud. in Andover Theological Seminary; was tutor at Kenyon Coll., Gabien, Oh. 1827-31 & 1834-37; Prof. of Language, Pittsburgh University, 1831-34; Prof. Mathematica & Natural Science, 1841-54; of Physician, 1863; ordained minister, 1847; was some time Rector of St. Andrew, Ann Arbor; died 1881.
