Wilkin, Eloise, 1904-1987
Eloise Burns Wilkin was born on March 30, 1904 in Rochester, N.Y. An artist and author, her writing and illustrations won several awards. In addition to illustrating titles for other authors, she published several of her own books, including Baby's Mother Goose and My goodnight book. After 1944 she was under exclusive contract to Golden Press. Little Golden Book titles she illustrated include The boy with a drum; Busy Timmie; and Prayers for children. She also designed dolls and dollhouses, and in the 1960s successfully marketed the doll "Baby Dear".
