Bradley, Joseph S. (Joseph Sladen), 1900-1961
Joseph Sladen Bradley (1900-1961) was born in Vancouver, Washington. After graduating from West Point in 1919, he commissioned with the infantry. He graduated from Command and General Staff School in 1937. During World War II, he served with the 126th Infantry of the 32nd Division and became brigadier general in September 1944. From 1944 to 1946, he was assigned to the general staff of the War Department. During the Korean War, he was commanding general of the 25th Division. He retired as a major general in May 1956. He was awarded two Distinguished Service Crosses, two Distinguished Service Medals, four Silver Stars, and two Bronze Stars.
