The papers of Samuel P. Savage relate to his business as an insurance agent for trading vessels, including the sloops Friendship and Lucretia; receipts for goods sold and purchased, such as slaves, and for his business as a Boston merchant; and documents related to his position as chairman of the Board of War during the Revolutionary War, primarily relating to supplying the army, including information on the arrival of the Frigate Deane.
