The annual reports series provides a yearly progress report on library activity. Financial matters are contained in the series on budgets and financial records. One can view the day-to-day activities of the University Librarian through the general correspondence files, which are arranged alphabetically by sender or recipient of each letter. The bulk of the records are contained in the subject files. Within these files is documentation of Cameron's leadership of the Rutgers library system. Included are topics both internal to the operations of gthe library and external subjects that concerned Cameron, including professional organizations, associations and committees in which he participated. The records also contain extensive documentation on library construction on the New Brunswick, Newark, and Camden campuses of Rutgers. Presidential Papers, 1891-1906; II. Personal Papers, 1871-1928; and III. Clippings, 1871-1937. The bulk of the material consists of presidential papers and graduate school notes (in German) of Greek and Roman history courses taken under Droysen and Mommsen. The presidential papers include five annual statements to the Board, correspondence, subject files (including material on the Scholarship Act of 1890), financial notes, and speech material, including two addreses concerning George Washington's activities in New Jersey. The General Correspondence series mainly consists of letters, the majority of which document the mundane matters of Cameron's everyday work. Within the Subject Files is documentation of Cameron's leadership of the Rutgers Libraries.
