The majority of this collection consists of meeting minutes, yearbooks, and reports that document the activities and interests of the members. The restoration of Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve and the Glendenning Rock Garden and the planning of events including the Rittenhouse Flower Market are documented through financial records, photos, and correspondence. There are also many compositions penned by members of the club and several scrapbooks depicting attendees at the annual meetings of the Garden Club of America, at parties hosted by members, at members' gardens, and volunteering at different locations. The collection also has several awards and certificates received by the Garden Club of Philadelphia as a result of their involvement in the Philadelphia Flower Show, which the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society first held in 1829 to showcase the talents of local gardeners.
