Correspondence, reports, and other papers related to Francis P. Farquhar's role as member and then chairman of the Historic Landmarks Approval Committee of the California State Chamber of Commerce, Agriculture and Industry, 1932-1952. Includes lists of registered landmarks and rejected applications for registration of landmarks of the 1940s. Includes a diary (1862-1864) of Francis P. Farquhar's father, David Webber Farquhar, kept on his sea voyages from Boston to San Francisco via Panama, and back again. Diary is accompanied by a notebook, presumably belonging to Francis Farquhar, containing biographical notes, a typed transcript of the diary, and ephemera.
