Flaget for St. Joseph's Cathedral (Bardstown, Ky.). Johnson, a Kentucky representative in the U. S. Congress, compiled this scrapbook to document the veracity of the gifts as well as to relate the Congressional battle during the 1820s & 30s to recover duties paid by Bishop Flaget. Scrapbook contains photostats of Congressional records and images of Flaget, St. Joseph's Church, and the gifted paintings (including works by Murillo, Van Dyck, and Reubens).
