Harriett Bradley Fitt was the daughter of an Army doctor, stationed at Fort Custer, Fort Yellowstone, the Philippines, and several other forts around the United States. Papers consist of her reminiscence (ca. 1967), a reminiscence (1899) by her mother Letitia Follett Bradley, and several biographical sketches about Alfred E. Bradley. Papers (1897-1967) consist predominantly of an autobiographical manuscript (ca. 1967), entitled "I Thought As a Child," describing Harriett's childhood at Fort Yellowstone, Wyoming, life on a hospital ship during the Spanish American War, living in the Philippines, a visit to Japan in 1905, and life at Fort Sheridan, Illinois. In addition there is a reminiscence (1899) by Letitia Follett Bradley, several biographical sketches about the military career of Alfred E. Bradley, and genealogical charts.
