Harold Van Buren Magonigle (1867-1935) was an American architect, artist and author. He achieved his greatest success as a designer of monuments but his artistic talents extended to sculpture, painting, writing, and graphic design. Collection consists of Magonigle's correspondence, writings, architectural papers, photographs, sketches, and printed matter. Includes general and personal correspondence with colleagues, academic figures and editors; correspondence and related papers, 1912-1928, as president of the New York chapter of the American Institute of Architects and as president of the American Academy in Rome Association of Alumni; and papers, 1901-1907, relating to the William McKinley Memorial in Canton, Ohio, which Magonigle designed; typescripts of his principal works on the history, theory and technique of art; his plays; articles published in architectural journals; addresses and lectures; photographs and pencil sketches of some of his designs; personal papers and printed matter. Also, correspondence and related papers of his wife, Edith Marion Day Magonigle, a painter and sculptor.

Photographic archive of Emma Nelson Baker, in large part reflective of her role in helping to organize the Panama-Pacific International Exposition held in San Francisco in 1915. Vols. 1-2: photograph albums documenting the planning and building of the PPIE from the exhibition's earliest stages, depicting meetings, ceremonies, surveying, construction, landscaping and grounds, artwork, sculpture, exibits, directors, officials, staff, and other events and individuals related to the PPIE. Among those pictured are PPIE President Charles C. Moore and Vice-Presidents William H. Crocker, R.B. Hale, Isaias W. Hellman, Jr., M.H. De Young, Leon Sloss, James Rolph; Exposition stunt pilot Art Smith; U.S. President William Howard Taft; and Exposition sculptor Alexander Stirling Calder. Also includes personal negatives and 1 box of personal and family photographs.

Deeds, surveys, wills and estate papers, bonds, accounts, mortgages and other papers of Richard Valentine of the town of North Hempstead, Queens (now Nassau) County, N.Y. Deeds, surveys, rights of way and other land documents are largely for land in the towns of North Hempstead and Hampstead, and involve Jonathan Valentine, Philip Valentine, Benjamin Hewlett and others. Items of note include estate papers of an earlier Richard Valentine, 1742; a list of "The ages of my Negroes," by Richard Valentine, ca. 1810; will and estate papers of Richard Valentine, 1812-1814, including accounts with Miss Wily for board and tuition of his daughters, Phebe, Ann and Mary; and paper appointing Julia M. Valentine as guardian for George F. Valentine. Others mentioned in the papers include Gersham Ludlam, Sidney and Jacob Seaman, Micah Williams, John Hyde, William Crooker, James Townsend and Henry Robbins.
