Negative taken for April 28, 1959, Arkansas Gazette article "Cadron: A Once-booming Town That Is No More," B1:3. Harry Mann had a life-long ambition to live in Cadron Valley in Faulkner County, Arkansas. By the time he reached retirement he was able to find five acres to build a cabin on. Mann deeded some of his land near the Arkansas River to the Faulkner County Historical Society. The society put a Historical Marker there explaining some of the history of the original Cadron Settlement founded in 1814. It reads, "No. E22. Faulkner County. The Cadron Settlement. Old settlement on Arkansas River at the mouth of Cadron Creek, founded about 1814, granted post-office in 1820. Designated as capital of Arkansas Territory by House of Representatives in 1820. County seat of Pulaski County in 1820-1821. County seat of Conway County 1825-31. 1836 Arkansas Centennial Comm. - Arkansas History Comm. 1936." Cadron is now on the Northwestern edge of Conway, Faulkner County, Arkansas.
