Several items concern Powhatan Ellis, Charles Ellis, and Thomas H. Ellis. Included are two sermons which appear to be those of the Reverend John Buchanan, rector of St. John's Church, Henrico Parish, 1785-1822, and a history of the Buchanan Springs Quoit Club, which was an influential group of prominent Richmond men who met to socialize and discuss politics and government.
