The majority of this collection includes monthly invoices, bills and other financial transactions initiated by Sarah Tucker after the death of her husband, Henry Holcombe Tucker. Almost all of the transactions involved businesses in downtown Atlanta. The collection provides insight into the lifestyle and monthly financial responsibilities of a wealthy widow in Atlanta during the 1890s. Included among Ms. Tuckers purchases are groceries, dry goods, building supplies, labor, utility bills, subscriptions, coal, ice, insurance policies, a tombstone, and a horse-drawn carriage. Ms. Tuckers financial records bear the logos and advertising of dozens of Atlanta businesses. Correspondence in the collection consists of four letters written by both Henry and Sarah Tucker to family and friends.

The collection consists of four diaries of Henry Holcombe Tucker, dating 1854, 1855, 1859 and 1875, which detail his activities and career, and include an autobiographical sketch. The volumes are narrow quartos, with original leather spines and marbled boards, containing approximately 450 pages plus blanks.

Marshal, Surveyor of Customs, Deputy Revenue Collector, and Postmaster. Correspondents include Augustus R. Wright, Henry H. Tucker, and James Buchanan Eads.

The collection consists of a diary for the year 1857 of Henry H. Tucker. He digresses from the diary to give a rather complete genealogy of his family. The diary gives a record of his travels in Georgia plus a trip to Philadelphia to check on an inheritance plus a good bit of financial information as well as family history. Most of the entries, except for the family information, are short, informative and to the point.

The collection consists of papers of William Letcher Mitchell and the Mitchell family of Athens, Georgia from 1819-1901. The papers mainly contain correspondence, but also include reports (1875-1880) from the University of Georgia (UGA). The correspondence contains information on Mitchell's law practice; his tenure on the Board of Trustees at UGA; Georgia politics; as well as his involvement with the Athens Presbyterian Church, the UGA University High School (Athens, Georgia), and the Athens division of the Scottish Rite Masonic order. Correspondents include Herschel V. Johnson, Charles Colcock Jones, Andrew A. Lipscomb, John Letcher, Henry H. Tucker, and Boykin Wright. After Mitchell's death in 1882, the correspondence is addressed to Frances L. Mitchell.

The 1877 diary Tucker maintained while at the University of Georgia (Athens) and it includes notes on lectures Tucker gave, family news, and financial accounts.
