Also discuss the problem of fences, with a suggestion for fences of "buckhorn or the osage orange", disliking sod fences that are "temporary and not always a protection against stock". Discusses article in "Prairie Farmer" on smut in which the author "snears at the idea ... of a vegetable origin" and states that he is writing an article "defending the vegetable origin" for the Constitutionalist of Ottawa.
