Title: Pitkin oral history project, 1975-1980.

The Pitkin Oral History Project of Priscilla Welsh consists of a collection of 91 original audiocassette tapes recording interviews she made with Pitkin, members of his family, friends, Goddard College faculty, students, trustees, and other people. In addition to the cassette tapes there is one 7" reel of audio taped interview material, a cassette copy of the 7" reel tape, and one folder of related correspondence and documents. Most of the interviews relate to Pitkin's educational philosophy and how his associates viewed it in action on the Goddard College campus. In addition to the interview material there are other recorded sessions of faculty meetings, conferences, etc., all gathered apparently to fill out background material for Welsh's study. The contents the folder include a few pieces of correspondence, published articles by Pitkin, recollections of his last illness, his obituary, and that of Priscilla Welsh.
