Survey plats and patents of Jefferson's estates in Ablemarle County, including Monticello. Also included a copy of the extracts from the patent and survey plat for 157 acres in Botetourt County (1774, July 5) and a survey of Poplar Forest in Bedford County (Ca. 1800), and miscellaneous surveying memoranda (1794-1800). The following surveys are copies in the handwriting of Thomas Jefferson: 1) Martin, Hudson. Survey of 66 acres of land from Edward Cater, esq. to Nicholas Meriwether Lewis (Albermarle County, 1790, Oct. 19); 2) Tompkins, William. One thousand and thirty acres on the West side of Rivanna irver, one mile below Miltion (Albermarle County, 1812, June); and 3) Woods, William. "This is a plat of 496 1/2 acres of land lying int he county of Albermarle, on the waters of Moore's Creek, surveyed by Thomas Wells, junr." (1802, Mar. 29)
