Concerns possible matches for Ursula Thwaites, including Henry Finch, Robert Sidney, Anthony St. Leger, and the hare-lipped son of Serjeant (William) Lovelace. Strongly denies a supposed marriage contract between Henry Finch and Ursula Thwaites, for which Finch's stepfather, Nicholas St. Leger, is "half condemnid in Ireland." Reports that Warham St. Leger is importunate with his brother (Nicholas St. Leger) and Waterhouse for allegedly giving Warham's eldest son Anthony access to her. Of a possible match between her and Robert Sidney, expresses his opinion that "it were a great Iniury to Mr. Ro[bert] Sidney, to match so meanely when the care of his vncles [Leicester and Warwick] over him manifestith some great alliance by his match to his fathers howse, for it is thought my lord of lecester will make him equall w[i]th Mr Phillip." Asks Agard to be careful of her, declares himself and Nicholas St. Leger faultless of ill practice, and states his intention to remain neutral. Recommends that Ursula either marry Robert Sidney, or else be made a free woman to choose for herself ("she hath twice fined for her wardship").

Many items in this segment of the collection pertain to antiquarian Laurence Nowell and his student William Lambarde including an ecclesiastical census of England and Wales compiled by Nowell, 1562; History of the Dukes of Normandy by William of Jumiege in the hand of Nowell with marginal notes and index by Lambarde; a copy of Dialogue of the Exchequer by Richard Fitzneale with annotations by Lambarde; and an account of the household of Edward IV, 1574, in hand of Lambarde; a copy of a letter from Lambarde to Sir Henry Sidney, 1576, dedicating his topographical dictionary to Sidney. Also transcriptions of Lambarde's 1585 letter to the Lord Treasurer on defense of the Low Countries; instructions for sale of royal lands, and for keeping a court-baron, 1589; indentures of Lambarde mentioning William Cecil and Sir John Fortescue, 1591, 1596; a receipt of Lambarde for a land purchase, 1597; a petition from the gentry, ministry and commonalty of Kent to the House of Commons in hand of Lambarde; a letter from John Kynd to Lambarde, 1600, concerning the constables of Blackheaths Hundred; and a document concerning Lambarde's Leases, 1649-1692.
