Two account books, one kept by Jacob Stilson and the other by James B. Stilson. Jacob's book covers 1767-1795, and James' book covers 1800-1822. Jacob wove lining (i.e. linen?) cloth, flannel, striped bed ticking, linen, diaper, coverlets, and kersey. He gave credit to women for spinning and tying in pieces of cloth. Jacob did other tasks as well, such as helping dig a well, cutting and carting wood, building, and working in the fields. He gave or received credit for beef, rum, fish, other food, candles and other goods, and the loan of his horse. He noted the birth dates of him and his wife and their wedding day. James B. Stilson's account book records a wider range of activities, including weaving, making shingles, field work, setting barrel hoops, sheep shearing, whitening cloth, and other tasks. He wove flannel, coverlets, wool, linen, apron cloth, kersey blankets, bed ticking, diaper, and checked cloth. He also made ropes and bed cords. At the end of James' book are accounts of Harmes Nichols from 1831-1845. Nichols was a farm laborer.
