Volume 1 contains accounts (1824-1852) with individuals, estates, trust estates, trustees of a marriage settlement, and [South] Mulberry Plantation. Barker; a list of 87 slaves, their names, ages, and skills or occupations; notes (1837-1838) taken at sales; notes from a meeting to organize "500 white registered citizens ... to preserve order and to protect the property and lives of citizens white & black;" and a clipping (ca. 1844) concerning legislation related to mortgages and liens.
