Budke, New York City, re a prehistoric soapstone pot sent by Glass; 7 Oct. 1930, from W.W. Taylor, Los Angeles, Ca., re stamp collecting in California. Includes memoranda and announcements issued to local postmasters by Post Office Department in Washington, including routes, policies, and descriptions of criminals for posting letters re renaming of post office, ca. 1928, from Trough, S.C., to Pacolet Mills, S.C.; price lists from stamp and coin dealers across the U.S.; receipts and bills from purchases and sales made by Glass; papers re Glass's trading of Indian arrowheads and other "relics" for stamps and coins; and copies made by Glass of his own correspondence. Several Depression-era letters refer to a lack of business among coin dealers; one letter, 20 Sept. 1933, from Newell Collins of Detroit refers to closing of local banks; also included are several first day of issue envelope covers. Includes two items of a political nature: handbill, 1933, "Call For Mass Convention," issued by the Republican State Advisory Committee for South Carolina, setting the time and place for a meeting, 28 Oct. 1930, in Columbia; and form letter, 29 June 1933, from U.S. Senator Huey P. Long discussing U.S. banking policy and including an appeal for subscriptions to Long's weekly newspaper, The American Progress.
