In 1794 Randolph writes to his stepfather St. George Tucker about the refusal of the Senate to seat Albert Gallatin and queries Tucker on the constitutionality of the action. In 1830 and 1831, he writes Thomas A. Morton about his health, renting out Bizarre, poor crops, and the possibility of war in Europe being deterred by fear of subsequent revolution, and the sale of several lots of land. The collection also contains reminiscences, 1898 May 4, of Powhatan Bouldin, a Danville newspaper editor; Thomas Bouldin, pioneer and some of his descendants, by Robert F. Hutcheson, n.d., and some genealogical notes.
