Distribution of Isaac Sheldon's land, left to his wife Anna Sheldon, daughter Anna Goodwin, and the heir of his daughter Elizabeth Woodbridge. The Sheldons lived in Hartford, Connecticut. Settlement of the estate was overseen by executor Joseph Woodbridge, Sheldon's son-in-law. Contains estate inventories, bills, debts owed to Isaac Sheldon, and letters regarding the estate. The earliest documents relate to land laid out to Sheldon in New Hartford, Connecticut.

Records of two families of Norwich, Conn., including legal papers, accounts and letters, showing for the most part general store transactions. One group of thirteen small volumes in four containers is of the Backus family store, 1793-1814. There are two daybooks, 1834-1850, containing farm accounts of William W. Backus, and unbound orders and letters, 1763-1813, relating to the iron works of Elijah Backus and his sons, James and Rufus. This iron works was of great service to the armed forces during the Revolutionary War.
