Lewis Morris, president of Council of New Jersey, for measures to relieve the currency shortage; genealogical information of the Abbe family; Cowenhoven family photo albums (ca. 1850-1875); list of drawings and paintings by August Will, of Jersey City and other Hudson County, N.J., localities; accounts (1874) of C.E. Hartung & Company, New York, N.Y., importers of human hair; records (1913-1914) of Equal Franchise Society of New Jersey; and material relating to a checklist of 18th century New Jersey imprints. Other persons represented include Hartung family, Capt. John Heard, Gen. Nathaniel Heard (1730-1792), Horace J. Hoffman and family, Ida E. Housman, Albert and James I. Lake, Robert H. Title: New Jersey Militia orderly book, 1776-1782.

This volume is an orderly book kept by Colonel Philip Van Cortland's regiment of Nathaniel Heard's Brigade of the New Jersey Militia from July 7, 1776 to September 24, 1776. Orders were issued from New York City until September 10th and then from Kingsbridge. Included in this volume is a list of the troops in Captain Jedidiah Swan's company and a record of court cases involving soldiers in the militia from February 2, 1781 to May 9, 1782.
