William Henry Munger (b. Oct. 12, 1845, Bergen, N.Y.–d. Aug. 11, 1915, Omaha, Neb.) was a United States federal judge. He was in private practice in Fremont, Nebraska from 1869 to 1878, then in Omaha, Nebraska from 1878 to 1879, and returning Fremont from 1879 to 1897. On February 1, 1897, Munger was nominated by President Grover Cleveland to a seat on the United States District Court for the District of Nebraska vacated by William D. McHugh. Munger was confirmed by the United States Senate on February 18, 1897, and received his commission the same day, serving thereafter until his death, in Omaha.

Title: Whaling expedition : from New Bedford to China / by James F. Munger, 1850-1852.

The journal records an 1850-52 journey from New Bedford to China by way of Cape Horn, Sandwich Islands, Bering Straits, and Hong Kong. It records the crew of the ship St. George, the commander Capt. Hawes, and the number of whales caught and missed. It describes a stay in Whampou (Huang-pu), China and the voyage home to New York by way of Cape of Good Hope on the Annie Bucknam commanded by Capt. Barber and carrying tea. A crew list is included and letters to his parents and Charles Harrison.

Papers include correspondence, reports, photographs, plans, statistical data, notes, and scientific papers pertaining mainly to the work done in China and Thailand and at Cornell by Professor Love, a specialist in cereal breeding and the application of statistical methods to agricultural research; papers concerning China relate mainly to agricultural research, extension work, and reconstruction at the University of Nanking, the needs and problems of that university, particularly during the Japanese occupation, the studies of Nanking graduate students at Cornell, the field work and studies of Chinese trainees at Cornell and in American industry, and assistance Love gave to Chinese agronomists; also, speeches, radio talks, articles, and various papers, including the manuscript of "The Cornell-Nanking Story" by Love and John H. Reisner.
