Statement accompanying string of wampum given by the sachems of the Seneca Nation to Col. Jeremiah Wadsworth on the occasion of the Treaty of Big Tree, 15 Sept. 1797. Also, letter written on behalf of the Tuscarora Indians by Israel Chapin, 27 Jan. 1799, requesting an enlargement of their reservation, with reply from Cazenove, 31 Jan. 1799, stating that his successor as agent for the Holland Land Company, Paul Busti, will receive instructions to grant the Tuscarora a second mile square as originally promised, to be laid out by Joseph Ellicott, surveyor.

Chiefly correspondence and a few other items of the Holland Land Company related to its property in Genesee County, New York (1806-1815, bulk 1806-1810). Most of the letters are to Joseph Ellicott, Batavia, N.Y., agent for the company, mostly from Paul Busti, Philadelphia, general agent for the company. These relate to the sale, administration, and policies of the Genesee lands and the Erie Company's plan to run the Erie Turnpike thorough Holland Company lands. Col. Robert Troup, president of the Erie Company, and Maj. Adam Hoops are mentioned frequently in this latter correspondence.

A detailed account of raising silkworms using the Italian method of Count Dandoli[?] with observations on the effects of the American climate, the undated item is incomplete, missing the first leaf. In a pencilled comment S. Alexander disagrees with Mr. Busti's method of fumigating the cocoons, and suggests using heat.
