Storer, Wealthy. A record of a visit made by the ministry at the City of Peace to Holy Mount, June 23rd, 1844, 1844-1849.

Title: A record of a visit made by the ministry at the City of Peace to Holy Mount, June 23rd, 1844, 1844-1849.

Wealthy Storer records what happened during visits made by residents of the Hancock, Massachusetts, Shaker community to their counterparts at New Lebanon, New York in June 1844 and July 1849. In 1844, the visitors saw the sisters' and brethren's shops, the barns, the dwelling house, garden, orchards, etc., in addition to attending meetings. In 1849, the visitors attended a meeting, which is described. Laid in at the rear is an eight-page address delivered by Benjamin Gates on June 30, 1842. In this, Gates was speaking for the Apostle Paul.
