Rene Muhl, an Air Force veteran of the First Gulf War and UNT graduate student, concerning her memories of "military brat' childhood; education at North Texas State University and participation in protests against Vietnam War; teaching career at Tarrant County College; decision to join U.S. Air Force and attend Officer Candidate School; earning of officer's commission in 1979 and assignment to field of munitions; Air Force career, including service at multiple bases stateside and overseas; experiences with sexism in USAF; wartime experience; attendance at Air War College; retirement and return to graduate school to pursue master's in sculpting. Appendix consists of photocopies of the program for the "Retirement Ceremony for Colonel Rene M. Muhl," (four leaves).

Parrish, Noel Francis. Papers, 1894-1987 (bulk 1930-1987).

Title: Papers, 1894-1987 (bulk 1930-1987).

Correspondence, speeches and writings, academic and military files, family papers, photographs and slides, and other papers, relating to Parrish's military and academic careers. Much of the collection relates to his post as commander of Tuskegee Army Air Field, Ala., where he was responsible for training the Army Air Forces' first African American pilots during World War II. Other topics include Defense Dept. politics, Vietnam Conflict, Women's Army Corps air pilots, and Parrish's training at the Air Command Staff School and Air War College, duties with NATO Defence College in Paris, graduate work at Rice University, and tenure at Trinity University, San Antonio, Tex., as professor of military history. Family papers include diaries and writings of his brother, Garland C. Parrish. Correspondents include Adrian Bosch, Benjamin O. Davis, Jr., Benjamin O. Little, Edwin L., 1918-2004. General Edwin L. Little papers, 1933-1989.

Title: General Edwin L. Little papers, 1933-1989.

General Little saved many records from his service to his nation. His files contain the entire history of his time spent in the various aircraft he flew, from training during World War II to his final hours in 1966. After his bombing missions over Europe, Little returned to the states and became an instructor, teaching others to fly with and without instruments. Other records trace his assignments and his advancement along a professional military career path. After the war, Little participated in the Berlin airlift. He entered the world of supply and logistics and followed that path to the rank of brigadier general. The collection also has some insights into the life of a commanding officer. At the end of his military career, he lent his knowledge and talents to designing, procuring, constructing, and dedicating a veterans memorial park in Fair Haven, Vermont. Research providing additional contextual information has also been interfiled among many of Edwin L. Little's original papers.

Part II consists of correspondence, memoranda, diaries speeches, writings, and scheduling and subject files pertaining to Eaker's activities after leaving the military.
