Letter of April 28, 1839 from Goodrich in Cambria, N.Y., to Almon W. Pinney in Middlebury, Vt., expressing disappointment that Pinney has not come to Cambria, asking news of friends and family in Vermont, giving news of other friends, commenting on how beehives can be shipped and hoping that John M. Weeks will send him one; diaries of William F. Goodrich (1850-1872), detailing daily activities and finances, health of family and friends, particularly documenting barter economics and the interdependence of neighbors, family and friends for work and resources; and two letters of Otis Goodrich, one (1826) to Captain Otis Goodrich of the Vermont Militia from Dr. Zacheus Bass urging that John Vallett be discharged from military duty for health reasons; the other (1852) from Otis Goodrich of Shoreham to "Friend George" concerning a debt . During William F. Goodrich's final illness in Dec. 1865 and Jan. 1866 his wife (probably) recorded helpfulness of friends in "watching" at night. She recorded family and farm activities for several more years.
