The collection reflects Levine's humanitarian work on several causes, including his effort to build the research library collection at the Beth Gordon Museum at Dagania Aleph in Palestine, and to collect agriculture-related literature appropriate for the kind of agriculture being practiced in the Middle East. A folder is devoted to Levine's effort to collect money for flowers to be sent to a former college landlady, who was in poor health. During World War II, Levine worked with Jewish Family Welfare Assn. and other organizations to assist Jews attempting to flee Europe; related papers are included in this collection. Levine was also involved with a move to establish fair dues for credit union membership and to establish Group Health HMO.
