Handwritten manuscript, 128 pages, of reminiscences by Obermuller, entitled "Life and Travels of a Mining Engineer," in which he describes his childhood in Missouri, encounters with Jesse James, the Youngers and others, Phoenix in 1889 and his friendships with Philip Tedro (Hi-Jolly) and Jack Swilling. Most of the manuscript describes his travels in Mexico, South America and Europeup to 1905.

Fourr, William, 1843-1935. Fourr papers, 1864-1983.

Title: Fourr papers, 1864-1983.

Manuscripts of reminiscences, correspondence, and a family genealogy; chiefly consists of a handwritten six-volume memoir of his adventures entitled "A Young Man's Life in the West" which concerns Fourr's experiences from Missouri and Kansas to New Mexico and Arizona as a cattle drover at Fort Craig, fighting Apaches, crime and criminals, hardships on the mail run, and life on the stage route. He describes the early communities of Tucson, Prescott, Phoenix and Tombstone and life as a miner, farmer and cattleman. Individuals mentioned include King Woolsey, Charles T. Hayden, Jack Swilling, and Mangas Coloradas. There are also several versions of "Reminiscences as told to Mrs. Kitt, 1925-1930" which contain many of the same stories, and there are letters from Fourr to Mrs. Kitt. Also present is a 1864 oath of allegiance to the U.S. government signed by Fourr.
