Extensive autograph annotations by Sir Thomas Clarke in the first Earl of Macclesfield's copy of the second edition of Fleta seu commentarius juris Anglicani sic nuncupatus, sub Edwardo rege primo seu circa annos abhinc CCCXL, ab anonymo conscriptus, atque è codice veteri, autore ipso aliquantulùm recentiori, nunc primùm typis editus (Londini : Typis S.R. prostant apud H. Twyford, T. Bassett, J. Place, & S. Keble ..., 1685). The annotations document Clarke's editorial collation of this copy with the 1647 first edition. Almost every page contains numerous marginal annotations and text block underlinings tracking textual differences. In addition, more extensive textual notes are written on laid-in sheets marked with the page number to which they refer. A small number of annotations are in the hand of the original owner, Thomas Parker, first Earl of Macclesfield (of the second creation).
