Potts, David R. Papers, 1864-1871 (bulk 1864-1865).

Title: Papers, 1864-1871 (bulk 1864-1865).

Collection includes diary and letter concerning possible government pension for Lieutenant Potts' mother. Diary describes movements of Company I, 32nd Ohio Volunteers, from boarding of steamer "Illinois" to landing at Clifton, Tenn (April 30, 1864), to capture of Columbia, S.C. on Feb. 17, 1865. Diary also contains list of Confederate prisoners captured Feb. 5 to Mar. 18, 1865; and cash, clothing, and ration accounts. Lieutenant Potts was killed during this Campaign of the Carolinas.
