Noting that "no living novelist (except Dickens) has had such an offer as this for one book." Asking Ward to keep this "a profound secret from everybody," especially as [Sampson] Low "is so exasperated at losing" Collins. Inquiring as to the state of his accounts, and sending kind regards from Caroline [Graves].
