The second bulletin on Garfield's condition issued to the public after his move to New Jersey. Written in the hand of Dr. D.W. Bliss and signed by him and five other physicians including D. Hayes Agnew, Frank H. Hamilton, Robert Reyburn, and Joseph Janvier Woodward. With an ANS by Bliss, 10 December 1884, certifying this was the original bulletin with original signatures.

James Abram Garfield (1831-1881) became the 20th President of the United States after completing nine consecutive terms in the House of Representatives. The collection consists of a small quantity of letters written by Garfield to various parties between 1863 and 1880. Also present are a bulletins documenting Garfield's health following his shooting by Charles Guiteau, a manuscript draft of the post-mortem bulletin by Dr. J. J. Woodward, and a small quantity of miscellaneous material related to Garfield and his presidency

Garfield after he was shot, between July 2 and Sept. 2, 1881. These included David H. Agnew, Frank Hastings Hamilton, Joseph K. Barnes, D.W. Bliss and Robert Reyburn. Correspondence from Hamilton and from a S.A. Boynton relate to this collection.
