Includes material on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, New York City; information on the Progressive movement (1909-1914) and the beginnings of the New Republic and its early staff; and transcripts of oral-history interviews conducted by Gerald Gunther of Stanford Law School and others, of Judge Hand, his family and associates.

Collection of published reports of New Jersey Interstate Bridge Commission, New York Interstate Bridge Commission, and the New York State Bridge and Tunnel Authority. Also plans, proposals, and information for contractors, including some drawings and blueprints, concerning construction of Holland Tunnel and its approaches during the 1920's. Also included are plans and recommendations of New York, New Jersey Port and Harbor Development Commission, 1920, and a report about Midtown Hudson Tunnel. In addition, a report "Ventilation of Vehicular Tunnels," 1931, legal reports about New York Dock Company, blueprints of the North River Highway Tunnel, 1918, and a book about the Port of New York Authority, 1942.
