Franc Goddard, and Thomas Ewing concerning ongoing litigation over James Riker's research papers and manuscripts, which made up the bulk of his estate. Collection also includes an affidavit regarding the estate of James Riker, Sr.; two letters to James Riker; and a letter and resolution from the New York Genealogical and Biographical Society regarding Riker's death.

The functions of the Executive Office for Administration and Finance as currently described in MGLA c 7 constitute fiscal and managerial oversight of the executive branch of Massachusetts state government and include financial operations (budgeting, state and local governmental fiscal oversight, tax revenue collection, and enforcement of financial obligations); central services (procurement of goods and services, automated data processing, and state buildings); personnel (including collective bargaining and employee benefits); and administrative law services (appeal hearings, dispute resolution, and antidiscrimination enforcement). The office is headed by a commissioner of administration who also serves as secretary of administration and finance in the governor's cabinet. Series is created by the commissioner/secretary to facilitate the fulfillment of the office's mission. It currently consists of the files of Commissioner William A. Waldron, who served in the administration of Governor Endicott Peabody, 1963-1965. Files contain correspondence, notes, memorandums, reports, and background materials including print and near-print items.
