A collection of 42 theatrical letters, the majority dated in the early 19th century, addressed to William Kenneth, a theatrical agent, and to James Winston, a theatrical manager in England. The letters provide valuable insights into the theatrical profession of the time, and particularly the growing importance of the influence of the theatrical agent. Also, a letter from the Irish poet Thomas Moore, written to Richard Milliken in which he writes of his travels, his family, and the current book on which he is working, TRAVELS OF AN IRISH GENTLEMAN IN SEARCH OF A RELIGION.

Bellamy writes from Theatre Royal, Bath, in 1833 to Dear Sir. The letter contains an integral envelope with the simple address, Mr. Kenneth. Bellamy complains that the copy of Nell Gwynne that he borrowed was incorrect. He says that after having the parts copied out, he saw the correct prompt copy from Covent Garden, necessitating doing the work all over again. Bellamy tells Kenneth that he is sending back the manuscript but warns that its content was "deficient in about one fifth of the matter," and that the parts ommitted were the most effective of the piece. He refers to the copy as a "hopeless and useless thing", but adds that the play went famously, with great style.

Mr. Russell must join immediately at Dumfries, and Alexander will give him the half benefit. Alexander also indicates that in sixteen years in the profession, he "never met with any thing to equal a letter which [he] received from that person who called himself Keane."
